Healthy Families | Nature Baby“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
- Lao Tzu

From the moment of birth, we begin not one but a series of journeys. Formal education involves various journeys through elementary school, high school and perhaps also college or university. Some people may then fall into a suitable occupation, but this is likely the exception rather the rule. For the vast majority of us, finding the right occupation is another, often difficult, journey involving plenty of trial and error. And then one day child number one arrives, and so begins the journey through parenthood.

As parents, we are constantly being called upon to make decisions for our children with neither a guidebook nor a reference manual for direction. So the decisions we make will ultimately be based upon input we’ve received from friends or family, or what we’ve read somewhere, what we’ve seen on t.v., or our decisions may simply be educated guesses about what “feels” right in the circumstances. Throw global warming into the mix, and it becomes clear that parents today are facing unprecedented challenges as they strive to create healthy families.

As a parent, do you ever feel like you’re making mistakes? You probably are, but rest assured: we’re ALL human, we ALL make mistakes.
As a parent, do you ever feel like you’re alone? Fortunately, you’re not, and together we CAN navigate this rollercoaster of a journey.

For me, this post represents a single step on the journey towards creating a website meant to support healthy families during a time of unprecedented change. As I build this site, my hope is that it will become a comprehensive and valuable source of useful tips and information on natural health, environmental awareness, childhood obesity, healthy living, family fitness, alternative medicine, sustainable living, and much more.

Welcome and enjoy!
